Kalabagh area, Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa

Eastern Technique has researched and gathered data on a unique opportunity for significant oil, gas, and other hydrocarbon reserves in the Kalabagh/Karak area spanning Punjab and KP.  The data has been verified and appreciated by the top global geologists.

The Salt Range and Kohat salt area present some of the ideal combinations of productive source rocks, favourable reservoir rocks, effective cap rocks and sealing of up-arched edges of the reservoirs against salt plugs.

Regular oil / gas belts are expected to exist along the southern and part of the northern periphery of the Salt Range and around the Karak/ Bahadur Khel–Nand Rakhi Salt belt of Kohat.

Kalabagh – Pir Pihai area in the Salt-Range and Nand Rakhi area in Kohat are recommended for test drilling at the first instance.
Results of intensive geological investigations in different parts of the Salt Range and Kohat Salt ranges strongly suggest a deviation from the old approach of searching oil at anticlinal folds to the flanks of intrusive salt masses.
